Watch the video: TTE Suspended for Abusing and Assaulting Passenger
A Travelling Ticket Examiner (TTE) faced suspension on Thursday for physically assaulting a passenger aboard the Barauni-Lucknow Express.
The incident unfolded between Gonda and Barabanki in Uttar Pradesh, with the Railway Minister, Ashwini Vaishnaw, announcing the TTE’s suspension on X (formerly Twitter) and expressing “zero tolerance for such misconduct.” Identified as Deputy Chief Ticket Inspector (DCTI) Prakash, the TTE allegedly abused and slapped the passenger, ostensibly over an irregular ticket.
The railway authorities have initiated an inquiry, emphasizing that the TTE’s actions were unauthorized. While the video of the incident went viral, public outrage on social media called for more than just suspension, urging termination and legal consequences for the TTE.
